Head of retail – London – £36,000 – £40,000 plus benefits
Looking for an experienced Retail Manager who will be responsible for managing the senior shop operations team and drive forward the retail and merchandising function through a variety of channels including in-ground sales, mail order & internet. The role will also operate within the organisation’s prevailing strategies and best practise to grow the retail operation moving forward.
Main Duties
- Day-to-day management of the retail team to ensure that the shop operations run consistently and effectively.
- Work alongside the Marketing Manager and Brand Design Team to safeguard the organisation’s brand identity and quality standards.
- Ensure highest customer service standards
- Develop sales and stock level reports
- Work closely with the Product Development Manager and Marketing Manager to develop organisation’s branded merchandise which appeals to the target audience.
- Ensure best commercial practice and identify new business opportunities where necessary liaising with other departments.
- Manage staff performance and development, and control the full-time team and temporary staff working hours to ensure that the Shop runs efficiently.
- Manage and maintain all management information and accounting systems
- Deliver a successful retail operation that maximises sales
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 3 years experience managing a retail operation, preferably within a venue.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of the wider team, and have high level of dedication and pride in work
- Possess strong negotiation skills
- Possess excellent people management and motivational skills
- Have a clear understanding of retail accounts and accounting processes having managed large retail budgets
- Stock control and turn-over experience
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Acute attention to detail and high quality standards
- Have a flexible approach to work and be able to work under pressure
